Charles “Van” Hammon
Charles “Van” Hammon, 65, of Ooltewah, Tennessee passed away peacefully in his home on June, 23 surrounded by family.
Van attended Ooltewah High School and was employed by Eastside Utility District for 30 years as a Labor Specialist.
He enjoyed dirt bike riding, camping, trout fishing, racoon and bear hunting, staying at his off grid “Cabin on the Hill” in Ocoee and cheering for the Tennessee Volunteers.
Preceding him in death were his father, Albert Scott Hammon, mother, Dorothy Grace Burns (Scoggins) Hammon and sister, Gayla Diane (Scoggins) Pickett. All of whom have been waiting on a joyous reunion with Van in Heaven.
He is survived by his wife, Lori Keeter Hammon, and two sons, Jacob Scott Hammon and Clayton Reed Hammon, as well as a nephew and several cousins.
He left us too quickly but not before giving his family and friends all he could.
Van requested no funeral or memorial service. Instead he asked that his co-workers, friends and family take a moment to remember the good times they shared.
“A really good friend is hard to find and he was always a good friend.”
