Sylvia King
Sylvia Norris King, 73, a resident of East Ridge, died on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, surrounded by her family. She died peacefully after courageously facing a brief illness.
Mrs. King was a longtime employee of JC Penney, where she was honored as an All-Star Associate many times for her outstanding customer service. Sylvia’s character was one of quiet dignity and courage. Her Southern charm was in equal measure to her kindness and gentility.

She was preceded in death by her son, Allen Lanier King, Jr.; and her great-grandson, Jayden Lee Eaves.
Surviving are her husband, Allen Lanier King, Sr. of East Ridge; daughters, Olivia (Don) Stewart of Lawrenceville, Ga., Pam (Jeff) Williams and Gloria (Steve) Hastings, both of East Ridge; sister, Gloria Norris, of New York City; grandchildren, Tony Stewart of San Fransisco, Ca., Lisa (Tommy) Boyd of Hoschton, Ga., and Mary (Percy) Eaves of East Ridge; and great-grandchild, Olivia Boyd of Hoschton, Ga.
