John Malone

John Malone Jr., 82, of Cape Coral, Fl., died on Thursday, January 21, 2010.

He was born January 26, 1927 in Athens, Tn. and had been a Lee County resident since moving from Chattanooga, Tn., in 1979. He retired from Charlotte County Ford-Lincoln-Mercury in 1990. He was an Army veteran of World War II serving in Japan and was an avid golfer.

Mr. Malone is survived by his wife of 32 years, Mary Ann Malone; his daughter, Vicki (Kurt) Stagmaier of Signal Mountain, and John Todd Malone of Chattanooga; his sisters, Lois Brock and Kate Erickson, both of Chattanooga, and Nell Gambill of Athens, Tn., and his every day sister-in-law, Helen C. Bartley of Cape Coral, Fl.; his grandchildren, Lauren (Chris) Shadrick of Birmingham, Al., Erin Stagmaier of Washington, D.C., Zachary, Benjamin and Braxton Malone, all of Chattanooga; great-grandson, Clark Stagmaier of Birmingham, Al., and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dessie Mae Burns Malone and John Henry Malone; sisters, Ruby Pace and Annie Patterson; brothers, Homer, Robert, James, T.R., Ross, Gene, Austin and Jack.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 27, at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Rev. Duane Houston of Clarksville, Tn., officiating.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 26, at funeral home.

Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory, and Florist, 404 South Moore Road.
