Joel Kinsey, 76, of Dalton, Ga., died on Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010 at the local hospital.
Joel was born July 7, 1934 in Walker County, Ga., a son of the late Reese Kinsey and Lizzie Willis Kinsey; and was also preceded in death by his wife, Jeaneatty Sue Patton Kinsey; brothers, Billy and Buddy Kinsey; and sisters, Jean Dunn and Christine McClure.
He was the co-owner of Alpha Carpets and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Angie Kinsey of Rocky Face; daughters and sons-in-law, Bernita and Rusty Wilson of Chatsworth and Cindy and Bill Davenport of Dalton; grandchildren, Holly Aliyah Kinsey, Joshua Michael Kinsey, Justin Mitchell Davenport and Josiah Matthew Davenport; brothers and sisters-in-law, Benny and Jenell Kinsey, Hoyt and Jane Kinsey and Randy Kinsey all of Dalton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Loraine and Leonard Davis of Ellijay, Ga. and Kathleen and Charlie Sisson of Dalton; and several nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Joel Kinsey will be held Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010 at 3 p.m. at the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with Reverend Gene Ratcliff officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his wife at the United Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Craig Dunn, Michael Davis, Dustin Taylor, Jeremy Davis, Wayne Patterson and Harold Ellis. The Dalton American Legion Post #112 will provide military graveside honors.
