Connie Norene Yates, 53, of Chattanooga and a former resident of Polk County, died on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 in a Chattanooga hospital.

She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Blanche C. Moates Yates.

She is survived by her daughters, Dava Marlene Martin and husband Rick of Athens and Maranda Jo Nelms of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Britney C. Lane, Cody D. Burris, Mason Trentham and Larae Trentham; sisters, Marlene Moats and Cindy Moats; brothers, Larry Moats and Gary Moats; mother-in-law, Ruth Seay; and the special people who raised her from a young child, G. W. Moats and Barbara Moats.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, July 18, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with the Reverend David Bowers and the Reverend Gary Moats officiating. Interment will follow in Chestuee Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 17 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
