Betty Jean Atchley
Betty Jean Atchley, 84, of Rossville, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024.
She was born on Aug. 20, 1939, in Chattanooga, Tn., to the late Phil and Mary Metcalf. She was a homemaker and member of Fairview Baptist Church. Betty was a fabulous cook, enjoyed shopping on QVC and she was a Peyton Manning fan. Betty’s favorite things to do were taking care of her only grandson, Perry, and watching NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt with her son, Steven, before his passing.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Phil and Mary Metcalf; husband, Robert Donald Atchley; son, Robert Steven Atchley; and sisters, Doris Fulghum and Margaret Cook.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Mitchell Atchley; grandson, Perry (Elizabeth) Atchley; sisters, Sue Dunn, Ruth Patrick and Lula Kerley; Brother, Phil (Sandra) Metcalf, two great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Ellie Kate Atchley; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 12–2 PM on Friday, May 10, at Lane Funeral Home and Crematory with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM in the South Crest Chapel.
Interment will follow in Tennessee – Georgia Memorial Park, Rossville, Ga.
