Doris Aldridge Coffman
Doris Aldridge Coffman, 83, of Soddy Daisy, died on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was a loving wife, mother, granny, sister and friend who will be dearly missed.
Doris was born in Taylor, Michigan, on July 11, 1940, one of four children of George and Mildred Aldridge. On Dec. 20, 1957, she married Marvin Coffman and together they had three children before moving to Marvin’s hometown of Soddy Daisy and adding a fourth child. Together, they were active members of the Soddy Daisy community.
Doris was a faithful member and servant of Soddy Daisy First Baptist Church for more than 60 years. She built her life around the church and raised her four children there, instilling in them her steadfast faith and love for Jesus Christ.
Doris was well-known and much loved for her many years of service with Head Start, first as a social worker and later as a teacher. Over two decades, she sowed seeds of love, showering hundreds of children with care and attention and celebrating as they grew and learned new skills.
Our precious mother was a sweet, gentle women who loved people unconditionally. The warmth of her embrace and the light of her smile could brighten the darkest day. Cooking was her love language and she knew it well. Her favorite days were spent with her large family, listening intently to their stories and encouraging their many adventures.
In addition to her husband of 58 years and her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her sister JoAnn (Larry) Asher and brother Sonny (Betty) Aldridge.
She is survived by her children, Lee Coffman, Cindy (Greg) Mulkey, Deborah Moazen, and Sherry (Dale) Hicks; six grandchildren, Brian (Candace) Moazen, Sarah (Tyler) Verink, Christopher (Josh) Penn, Gregory Mulkey, Corey Hicks and Alex Hicks; two great grandchildren Abby and Joey Moazen. She is also survived by her sister Kay Manfredini; and brothers-in-law Donny (Brenda) Coffman, Jay Coffman, and Tom (Pat) Coffman and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Services will be held on Friday, May 17, at 2 p.m. at Soddy Daisy First Baptist Church with Pastor Brandon Johns officiating. Burial will follow at Poe Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at Williamson and Sons Funeral Home.
