Randy Royce Malchaski, 74, of Soddy Daisy, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, July 3, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Randy was a hard worker and a true character, known for his quick wit and kind heart. He loved his work as a woodman, hauling firewood to Chester Frost Park, and took great pride in his job. Before that, he worked for Wilbert Vault Company for over 20 years. He often joked that he was “the last man to let you down”, A romantic at heart, he frequently brought his wife flowers—claiming they came from the funeral home, of course.
Randy had an incredibly strong work ethic and was honest almost to a fault. After losing his mother at the age of 13, he began working as a farmhand and always dreamed of being a farmer. He especially loved milking cows and singing to them. Apparently, the cows liked him too—when he had to take time off for an appendectomy, they only produced half the milk that week. He insisted it was because they missed his singing.
He also delighted in selling the beautiful Valentine’s Day baskets his wife made with love. If Randy liked you, you knew it—because he’d be joking with you. His humor, dependability, and kindness made a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He was born on Oct.4, 1950, in Black River Falls, Wi., to Edward and Clara Malchaski. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 48 years, Mary Malchaski, and his siblings, Ron, Tom, and Lynda.
He is survived by his devoted children and grandchildren, who will carry on his legacy with love and laughter, Angel Malchaski, and her children, Wally and Grace Danz; David Malchaski, and his children, Taylor and Ayden; Reggie Malchaski, and his children, Zakk, Kayleigh and Jaxin.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9, in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Hamilton County Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
