Harvey Cagle
Harvey Gene Cagle died on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at NHC Nursing Home in Rossville. He had fought a long hard battle from Parkinson’s.
He was an inspiration to all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
During his long lifespan, he worked at TVA and other places, before leaving to serve his country for four years in World War II. Harvey was a member of the Rossville Lions Club for over 50 years. On Memorial Day 2012, he was made an honorary member of the VFW and was presented a certificate for his service.
On his return from service he graduated from Georgia Tech, moved back to Chattanooga to be with his aging parents, and later worked at Citizens Savings and Loan for many years, before retiring in 1989. He served on the board for Community Kitchen and other boards.
Harvey was very active in his church that he loved so much. He was a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Cagle and mother, Ludye Cagle.
Survivors include several cousins, Bill (Sibbie) Johnson of Manchester, Tn., Steve (Debbie) Gunther of Chickamauga, and Jerry (Maryanne) McCurdy of Marietta, Ga.; and longtime friend, Mabel Simmons.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 21, at 10:30 a.m. at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church 722 Glenwood Drive, Chattanooga, Tn. 37404, with Father Stavros Ballas officiating.
Interment will follow in the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, Dec. 20, from 5-7:30 p.m., and at 7:30 p.m., there will be a Trisagion Service at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory located at the end of Historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
