Expanded Winter Camp Offered At Girls Preparatory School

  • Wednesday, December 5, 2012

The successful and popular GPS Winter Camp is expanding for December.  Along with the traditional winter camp, GPS will be offering "sport clinics" for basketball, cheerleading, softball, and tennis.

The regular winter camp experience from Thursday through Saturday, Dec. 20-22, will include crafts, activities, swimming, games and lots of fun. From 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., girls and boys in grades K-5 will be entertained and looked after by GPS students with camp counseling experience.

Campers may attend the entire program or register for one or two days only. Cost of the entire program is $160; a day of camp is $60, and two days are $110. Registration deadline is Saturday, Dec. 17.

After Christmas, GPS coaches and award-winning alumnae athletes are offering two-day sports clinics on Dec. 27-28. Among the instructors are varsity basketball assistant coach Andrew Phelps; former GPS cheerleader and current GPS cheerleading coach Michal Howick; softball coach Kristin Holloway, a former GPS TSSAA State Champion team member; and former TSSAA State Champion GPS tennis player Claire Bartlett. The tennis clinic is for girls and boys ages 5-10. The other clinics are for ages 8-11.
