History Center Presents Bluff View Tour August 28

  • Tuesday, August 7, 2012

The Chattanooga History Center will present a walking tour, Bluff View, based on a section of Maury Nicely’s Chattanooga Walking Tour and Historic Guide at 7:00pm on Tuesday, August 28th. The History Center’s Executive Director and Historian, Dr. Daryl Black, will serve as tour guide, and he will meet registered participants at the south end of the Walnut Street Bridge. The fee is $5. Pre-registration is required, and the deadline is Monday, August 27th.

Enjoy a summer evening walk which winds by significant Civil War sites, the site of a manufacturing company chartered in 1847, and several early 20th century residences which remain on the Bluff. Learn about the transitions of the tract from artillery placement to residential area to arts district. The tour will include pauses to talk about points of interest, and will last about an hour.
