The Good Old Days Museum in Soddy Daisy will open officially on Friday (April 5) at 9 a.m.

Steve Smith said, "We will be open on Fridays and Saturdays, only, from 9-4.

"We have been waiting since Dec. 16 to reopen. We have many new displays and we have kept other displays as they were, such as the World War II collection of photos, uniforms or other items related to the war years.

"If you have anything related to the wars, I or II, such as photos of men or women who lived in this area, we are interested in their photo to add to our display.

"We received photos just last week of the late Russell Pickett.
He is supposed to be the last survivor of his unit, which landed on the first day in the first wave at Normandy on D-Day, June 6,1944. He passed away Aug. 2, 2020.

"We are always looking for coal mining artifacts and photos from Soddy, Flattop Mountain, Montlake or Daisy and pottery photos from any of the five potteries that operated in or around Daisy.

"We are located in the old 102-year-old Soddy Bank building at the corner of Wall Street and Depot. The address is 11298 Wall St. We do ask for a $5 donation for adults 18 and older, students 7 to 17 - $3 and under 7 get in free."
