Flowers, Linville (Cleveland)

Linville Flowers, 86, of Cleveland, TN, died on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 following a brief illness. 

He was a member of East Side Church of Christ for the past 56 years. He was an avid bird hunter, devoted husband, father, grandfather and Christian. He set a wonderful example to all those he came in contact with, and he will be dearly missed. 

He was retired from South Central Bell after 31 years. Previous to the phone company he worked as a short order cook at Ellis Drug Store, Snack House #2 and the Spot. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clara (Cartwright) and Herby J. Flowers; brothers, Marseille Flowers, Arvel Flowers and Chester Flowers; and great-granddaughter, Jamison Rae Allmon. 

He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Louise Hitson Flowers; sons, Gene (Peggy) Flowers, and Eddie (Becky) Flowers all of Cleveland; daughter, Trefene (Richard) Ellis of Old Fort; grandchildren, Gina Flowers (Kip) Lindsay of Nashville, Renaugia Flowers (Jimmy) Allmon of Chattanooga, Seth Flowers and girlfriend Lisa, Tanner (Stacy) Flowers, Tyler Flowers and girlfriend Morgan all of Cleveland and Cody Ellis of Old Fort; great-grandchildren, Cole and Zoie Flowers of Cleveland, Silas Allmon of Chattanooga and Chloe and Caimen Flowers of Cleveland; and one nephew, Roy (Barbara) Flowers. 

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 23, in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Ministers Bill Maynard and Jeff Archey officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Seth, Tanner and Tyler Flowers, Jock McGee, Eddie Carson and Wesley Davis serving as pallbearers. Mansel Parkinson, Elmer Crye, Gene Tucker, Joe Craft, Charles Cartwright and Odell Swafford will serve and honorary pallbearers. The service will conclude with a white dove release ceremony. 

His family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday, November 22, at the Fike Funeral Home who has charge of the arrangements.
