Mary Jenkins
Mary C. Jenkins, 77, died on February 14, 2013.
She was employed with the Standifer Place Nursing Home for 25 years as a Certified Nursing Assistant, until her health failed. Mary attended Eastside Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Jessie Mae Jenkins; sister, Lillie Williams and daughter, Jacqueline Twilley.
She is survived by one daughter, Linda Twilley; five sons, David (Barbara) Twilley, Larry (Tasha) Twilley, Therdore (April) Elaster, Tyrone (Cornelius) Elaster and Eric Jenkins, all of Chattanooga; one sister, Pauline Jenkins; three brothers, Robert Jenkins and wife, Herman (Mary) Jenkins and Johnny Jenkins, all of Chattanooga; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a loving and devoted special friend of 40 years, Edward Carter; three stepchildren, Derothera Carter, Lebron Carter and Butch Pearl; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 22, in the chapel. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery.
The body will lie in state after noon on Thursday, Feb. 21, and the family will receive friends from 6–7 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
