Nora “Polly” Shelton, 90, of Cleveland, TN, passed away Wednesday April 17, 2013 at the family residence.
She was the daughter of the late Luther and Jane McKinney; and was also preceded in death by her husband, R.L. Shelton; her sisters Ruby Morgan, Sally McKinney and Carrie Webb; a daughter Wylma King; and her twin brother Dora “Preacher” McKinney.
Polly was a member of the Temple Baptist church for over 30 years.
She is survived by her daughters, Karen Jenkins McCullough and her husband Rick, Arlene Jenkins Johns and her husband Jerry all of Cleveland; one son, Chester Jenkins and his wife Margaret of Cleveland; step-daughter, Kathy Shelton Miller and her husband Daniel of Texas; and a step-son, Robby Shelton of Cleveland; 18 grandchildren; 15 great- grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A Remembrance of Life service will be held 11a.m. Saturday, April 20 at the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Rev. Paul Fox officiating. Interment will follow in the New Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery with Bobby Shelton, Bret Nelms, Johnny Johns, Ryan Jenkins, Courtney King and Michael Shelton serving as casketbearers.
The family will receive friends Friday, April 19 from 5-8 p.m. at the Jim Rush Funeral Home who has charge of the arrangements.
