Brenda Pauline Davis Dempsey, 68, of Dalton GA, died Friday, April 19, 2013 at Memorial Health Care in Chattanooga.
Brenda was born June 20, 1944 in Ellijay, GA, a daughter of the late Clifford David Davis, Jr. and Hazel Parks Davis Wofford; and was also preceded in death by a brother, Henry Davis; and a sister, Mable Wright.
She was a graduate of Valley Point High School and proudly served her country in the U.S. Air Force. She was retired from the Ridgewood Health Care Center with over twenty years of service in administration. Brenda always kept busy painting, drawing, crocheting and lived life to the fullest, but her biggest joy was caring for her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Crystal Montique Dempsey of the residence; son and his partner whom she thought of as a second son, Justin Heath Dempsey and Bradley Wortham Spain of Raleigh, NC; sisters and brother-in-law, Mary Ruth and Willard Penson of Rocky Face, GA, Betty Cadden Jordan of Chatsworth, GA; brother, Jimmy Davis of Dalton, GA; sister-in-law, Glenda Davis of Pensacola, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Ms. Brenda Pauline Davis Dempsey will be Tuesday, April 23, at 11 a.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Clifford Chambers officiating. She will be laid to rest at the West Hill Cemetery with Randall Dempsey and Brandon Dempsey serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 6-9 p.m. Monday, April 22, and after 9 a.m. Tuesday, April 23.
