Cherry B. Holder, 69, of Summerville, Georgia died on Thursday, January 16, 2014, at Oakview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Holder was born July 16, 1944, in Gordon County, Ga. She was the daughter of the late Clint Slaughter and Fannie Mae Tucker Slaughter. Mrs. Holder was a homemaker. 

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Houston Holder; and a sister, Linda Hunter.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy Marie and Randy Pendergrass; brother, Sam Slaughter; sisters, Mary Jo Freeman, Juanita Ray, and Shirley Ann Fuller; grandchildren, Jimmy Allen Myers, Justin Eugene Myers, Sabrina Lynn Myers, and Joseph Hardy; great grandchildren, Natalie Bradley, Jamie Mitchell, and Braylee Myers.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18, at Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bobby Brown officiating. Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jimmy Myers, Justin Myers, Dustin Rush, David Pendergrass, James Pendergrass, and James Grogan. Honorary pallbearers will be all staff and employees of Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Holder will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 17.
