State Volleyball Begins Wednesday In Murfreesboro

Boyd-Buchanan, Red Bank, Signal Mountain, Baylor Only Chattanooga Teams

The ever-exciting state volleyball tournament will begin Wednesday morning in Murfreesboro with action scheduled for four different schools.

The Boyd-Buchanan Lady Bucs are Chattanooga's entry in the Class A bracket while Red Bank and Signal Mountain will be competing in Class AA.  Baylor is entered in D-II Class AA.

Boyd-Buchanan, 32-14, will face Loretto (31-12) in Wednesday's opening match at Blackman High School with the opening serve set for 9:30 CDT.  The winner of that match would face the winner of Trinity Christian and Knoxville Grace at 3:30 while the losers of those two matches would meet at 6:30.

The Red Bank Lionettes, now 28-25 after getting hot when it counted most, will face Knox Catholic in the 9:30 match at Stewarts Creek High School with Dyersburg and Harpeth meeting in the second match.  First match winners would meet at 3:30 with the losers facing off at 6:30.

Signal Mountain will battle Page at 12:30 with the winner meeting the winner of Christian Academy of Knoxville and Jackson South Side at 5.  The losers would play at 8.

Baylor faces Father Ryan in the first match at Siegel Middle School.  The winner advances to the winners bracket final on Thursday at 10 with the loser facing the loser of Briarcrest and Ensworth at 5 Wednesday.

All five championship matches will be held at Siegel High School on Friday with the D-II Class A set for 10, the D-II Class AA at noon and D-I Class A, AA and AAA following every two hours.
