Korean War Veteran Held Long Careers With Coors Ceramic And Ace Hardware

Jimmy “Pepaw” Howard Hall, 84, of Chattanooga, died on Tuesday, October 21, 2014.

He was born in DeKalb County, Tn., on July 11, 1930, to the late Benjamin and Lillie Hall. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean War era. Jimmy was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he served as an usher and was a member of the Auditorium Sunday School Class.  He served as a deacon at several area churches since 1969. Jimmy retired from Coors Ceramic, formerly 3M, in 1995 and was an employee of the Ace Hardware in Red Bank for the last 16 years.  He was committed in serving his family, work and the church.

Jimmy was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Holmes and Corrine Hall.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 61 years, Wilma Norman Hall; daughter, Joy (Harold) Stockburger; two grandchildren, Lauren (Michael) Morgan and Daniel (Cassie) Stockburger; two great-grandchildren, Maddox Morgan and Charlie Stockburger; five sisters, Margaret (Eddie) Swaney, Kathryn Holmes, Sue (Ron) Hill, Helen Herman and Nell Hall; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday, Oct. 24, at Calvary Baptist Church, 5201 Dayton Blvd., Chattanooga, Tn. 37415, with Reverend Dwight Martin and Dr. Tony Weaver officiating.  Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23, at Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road, and from 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 24, until the time of service at Calvary Baptist Church, 5201 Dayton Blvd., Chattanooga, Tn. 37415.
