She was believer in the Christian faith and was affiliated with various Baptist churches.

She attended the public schools of Lorain OH, Asbury Park, NJ and Neptune, NJ. She was an exceptional student and remembered everything she ever learned.  She had a drive for success and thirst for knowledge so as a mom with young children she returned to school earning her LPN nursing license. After working many years as a nurse, she received her associate's degree in Business Administration from McKenzie College in 1987. With her nursing and business skills she owned and operated several assistant living homes for those with emotional and mental difficulties.

Known for her kindness and feistiness, Pat would help friend and stranger alike and she would always speak up for the weak and underdog.

She was predeceased in death by parents, Monroe and Bessie, sons, Michael and David, sister, Betty Ann Greenhow, nephew, Billy, and niece, Malik.

Her cherished memories will remain with her surviving children, Lorraine, Denise, Brian, Jeff, and Aisha, h
er siblings, Monroe, Kevin and Tommy Freeman, Beverly Jennings and Leila Curtis, her grandchildren, David, Martin, Alexis, Thomas, Britney, Deonta, Yusuf and Hasan and great-grandchildren, Zashun and Kennedy, one aunt, one uncle and many nieces, nephews, cousins and life-long friends.

She loved her family and especially appreciated the love and care she received from them and her health care workers while ill.  She had a marvelous sense of humor and an infectious smile. She will be sorely missed and her spirit will live on in the many lives that she touched.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20, in the chapel with Reverend Calvin White officiating and Reverend Monroe Freeman, eulogist.

The body will lie in state after 3 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 19, at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
