Thomas Odell Gordon, 71, died on December 4, 2014 at a local hospital.

He was a graduate of Howard High School class of 1961 and he was a member of the football team. He attended Tennessee State University and was a member of the Links. He was a former employee of Hamilton Co. Dept of Ed. & TVA. He belonged to First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Vincent and Amelia Gordon, Haywood ad Essie L. Jackson; mother and stepfather, Bennie Sue (Theodore) Toney, and father, Rothal Gordon. 

He is survived by sons, Johnny Arnet Marsh, Chattanooga, and Thomas O Gordon III, Nashville; daughters, Courtney and Denise Davenport, Los Angeles, and Terrica Price, Chattanooga; uncle and caregiver, James L, Jackson, Sr., Ann Jordan; special friends, Adrienne Marsh Summerrow, Ernest Cowan, Richard Scott, Nashville, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Special thanks to caregiver, Sarah Moss Chamberlain for being so faithful and helpful to the family during his illness.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 19, in the funeral home chapel with Bishop Richard Morris officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.

The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service on Friday at John P Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
