Mark Dennis Gilbert, 63, of East Brainerd died on Friday, December 19, 2014 at his home.

A longtime resident of Chattanooga, Mark retired in 2010 as vice-president of Hospice of Chattanooga after 13 years of service. 

He was a registered nurse graduating with honors from both Erlanger School of Nursing and Chattanooga State. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church and was an active National Guard reservist with the Army and Navy for 13 years.

Mark was preceded in death by his father, Marshall Gilbert and his grandmother, Vera Manning.

Mark will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, dad, grandfather and son.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Dianna Gilbert; son, Andrew (Riane) Gilbert; mother, Rose Gilbert; three grandchildren, Logan, Gabriel and Allyson; brother, Steven (Pam) Gilbert; and two nephews, all of Chattanooga.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Dec. 22, at 6 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Steve Euler officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Slavic Missionary Outreach, 145 NW Harmony Church Way, Greenville, Fl. 32331.
