Blood Assurance Issues Emergency Appeal For All Blood Types

  • Wednesday, February 12, 2014

Blood Assurance, the Chattanooga based regional blood center, has issued an emergency appeal for all blood types.  This appeal is due to the current weather conditions which have forced many blood drives to be cancelled across Blood Assurance's five state service area.   Business and school closings have added to an already short supply of blood from the last weather storm's closings.

Blood Assurance is asking all eligible blood donors who can safely make it to one of the 13 blood centers to do so.  At this time, all Blood Assurance centers will be open regular hours beginning Thursday, with the exception of the Cartersville and Rome, Ga. locations which will open at 10 a.m.

Visit www.bloodassurance.org for a listing of the Blood Assurance locations and for additional information on delays or closings, or call 756-0966 or 800.962-0628.
