Girl, 8, Struck While Trying To Cross 4th Avenue; Injuries Not Life Threatening

An eight-year-old girl was hit by a vehicle while trying to cross 4th Avenue on Friday night.

Police said her injuries are not life threatening.

At 9:36 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to 2300 4th Ave. on a pedestrian struck. Upon arrival officers found a victim had been struck by a vehicle. The victim was transported to an area hospital and treated for her injuries.

The victim was with a group crossing the street. The group stopped in the center turn lane to await oncoming traffic.

The victim ran across the street trying to beat oncoming traffic when she was struck.
