Cameron, Richard Allan, Sr. (Summerville)

Richard Allan Cameron, Sr., 67, of Summerville, Georgia died on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at his residence.

Mr. Cameron was born Sept. 7, 1946, in LaFayette, Ga., the son of the late Clarence Clayton and Arlene Jonson Cameron. He was a former employee of Peterson Farms. He attended Old Way Baptist Church.

Other than his parents, Mr. Cameron was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Cameron; and brothers, James Cameron, Thomas Cameron, and Billy Cameron.

Survivors include his son, Richard Cameron, JR; sisters and brothers-in-law, Nancy and Mike Brown, Anita and Max Colbert, Carolyn and Michael Applegate, and Sue Miller; grandchildren, Tamera, Michael, Nikki, and Allen; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p. m. on Friday, April 18, at Mason Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend David Thompson officiating.

A graveside burial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 19, in Mt. Olive Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerry Eller, Bill Taylor, Joey Hall, and Wade Gilbreath.

Mr. Cameron will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorials be made to the Gideon’s.
