Adams, Mary Catherine Brown

Mary Catherine Brown Adams, 78, of Indianapolis, died on Wednesday, April 16, 2014. 

She was the daughter of the late Robert and Isabelle Sanders-Brown.

She was a graduate of Crispus Attucks High School and was baptized at St. Rita’s Catholic Church. She worked at RCA for 15 years then went on to work as a private nanny for several years.

Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed.  She was a kind woman and was willing to help or do anything for anyone.

Mary was preceded in death by her father and mother, Robert and Isabelle Brown; brothers, James A. and John W. Brown; sisters, Roberta M. Brown-Hall and Ida Mae Hall.

She is survived by her brother, Joe (Mable) Brown; sister, Mary Bobbie Brown McDonald; son, Marcus (Beverly) Adams, Sr.; six grandchildren, Shane (Derrick) Natt, Audrea (Raymond) Lowery, Marcus (Brittney) Adams, Jr., Joshua, Jeremiah, and Joy; six great-grandchildren, Kiara, Derrick Jr., Jonathan, Mason, Raymond Jr. and Alyssa; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 18, at Lane Funeral Home, 601 Ashland Terrace.  Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. on Friday at the Funeral Home.
