Patsy Hazlewood Picks Up For House District 27; Brock, Scearce Running For School Board 6; Lewis, White For School Board 9

Patsy Hazlewood, local business and civic leader, has picked up papers to run for House District 27 as a Republican.

Thursday at noon is the deadline for having the petition back in with enough valid signatures.

Rep. Richard Floyd is not seeking re-election.

Oscar Brock, a familiar figure in Republican politics, has gotten in the race for District 6 school board. Joe Galloway is the incumbent. C. Ballard Scearce Jr., is also running.

Larry Lewis and Tim White are late entrants for County School Board 9 to replace Mike Evatt.

Also running are Dean Moorhouse, Karen Farrow and Steve Highlander.
