Virgil Pierce, 89, of Tunnel Hill, GA, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2014 at his residence.
Mr. Pierce was preceded in death by his father, John Pierce; mother, Ellen Pierce; brother, Frank Pierce; and sisters, Eula Vineyard and Louise Dempsey.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Pierce of the residence; daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Jeff Brock of Cohutta, GA, Michelle and Stan Stoop of Chatsworth, GA and Elaine Parker of East Ridge, TN; son, Tony Pierce of Rocky Face, GA; sister, Eloise Pierce of Varnell, GA; brothers, Arvil and Melvin Pierce both of Varnell, GA; grandchildren, Katie Brock, Kayla Pierce, Shana Pierce, Haley Manley, Ryan Cox, Savannah Pierce-Strickland, Gary Parker, Jr., Stephanie Belcher and Ashley Hall; and several great-grandchildren.
The funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Pierce will be held Sunday, June 29, at 2 p.m. at the Westside Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Michael Cox, Ryan Cox, Stan Stoop, Jeff Brock, Marty Hammontree and Colby Bryant.
