Geraldine Smith
Geraldine “Jerry” Jane Halterman Smith, of Signal Mountain, died peacefully on Saturday, August 9, 2014, at Alexian Health Center.
She was born December 26, 1919 in Kansas City, Mo., and worked at Bendix Aviation Corporation there for 30 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George M. Smith; son, George C. Smith ; parents, William and Sadie Halterman; sister, Louise Cardile, all of Kansas City, MO; sister, Pauline Carney of Merritt Island, FL; and brother, William Halterman Jr. of Oklahoma.
Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy S. “Sam” White of Signal Mountain, grandchildren, Moe (Donna) Galbraith and Peyton Galbraith, both of Signal Mountain, George A. Smith and Mark Smith, both of N. Kansas City, Mo.; great-grandchildren, George Anthony Smith of South Lake, Tx., Grant Galbraith of Signal Mountain, John, Virginia Marie and Anna Marie Smith, all of N. Kansas City, Mo.; former daughter-in-law and friend, Virginia Spino of N. Kansas City, Mo.; one niece; several nephews and cousins.

Visitation is at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 22, with a service at 11 a.m. in the chapel of St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, 630 Mississippi Avenue, Signal Mountain, Tn. 37377.
