Vietnam Veteran Worked For The U.S. Government For Over 22 Years

John Phillip Tinker, 73, of Chattanooga, died on Monday, August 18, 2014.

John retired from the U.S. Government with over 22 years of service. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

John was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Nadene Tinker; mother, Pearl Tinker; sister, Ann Nichols; mother and father-in-law, Milton and Oneida Warfield; and brother-in-law Jerry Lane.

Survivors include his son, Mike (Leia) Tinker; three sisters, Billie Lane, Linda (Walter) Brown and Barbara (W.O.) Johnson; brother-in-law, Bobby Joe Nichols; two granddaughters, Chasity and Courtney; one grandson, Wade; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 22, at Chattanooga National Cemetery, with full military honors, with Reverend Sam Bollinger officiating.
