Mavity, Marjorie Smith (LaFayette)

Marjorie  Smith  Mavity,  83,  of  LaFayette, GA,  died  Friday,  August 22, 2014.

Marjorie  was  a  member  of  the  LaFayette First  Baptist  Church  for  63  years.

She was preceded  in  death  by  her  husband,  Joseph  “Joe”  Mavity.

She is survived  by her  daughters  and  sons-in-law,  Carol  (Buster)  Hollis  and  Connie  (Alex)  Kimble  all  of  LaFayette;  grandchildren,  Sue  Ann  (Chris)  Woods,  Joseph  Hollis,  Seth  Kimble,  and  Natalie  (Juston)  White;  great-grandchildren,  Paxton  White,  Emma-Claire  Woods,  Jordan  Michelle  Woods  and  Patience  Cook;  and several  nieces  and  nephews.

 The  family  would  like  to  give  special  thanks  to  the  staff  of  Cozy  Manor  and  Hospice  of  Chattanooga  for  their  compassionate  care  that  they  gave  to  their  mother.

Graveside  service  at  the  Chattanooga  National  Cemetery will be  Tuesday,  August 26, at  11:30  a.m.  with  Minister  Mack  Stephens  officiating. Pallbearers  are  Alex  Kimble,  Buster  Hollis,  Joseph  Hollis,  Seth  Kimble,  Justin  White  and  Chris  Woods. Interment will be in  the  Chattanooga  National  Cemetery.

In  lieu  of  flowers, the  family  asks that  donations  be  made  to  St.  Jude  Hospital.

There will be no visitation.

The  arrangements  are  by  Wallis-Wilbanks  Funeral  Home,  LaFayette.
