B. F. “Buddy” Lorimer III, of Chattanooga, died peacefully at his home on Saturday, August 30, 2014. 

Buddy was a native of Rockwood, Tn., worked at Booth Funeral Home while in high school and was the son of the late Buford Lorimer, Jr. and Reba Powell Lorimer. 

He graduated from Rockwood High School in 1960, attended Carson Newman College and graduated from John A. Gupton Mortuary College in 1963.

Buddy worked many years as a Tennessee licensed funeral director and embalmer with Chattanooga Funeral Home.  He also held a Tennessee life insurance agent license.   

He was a member of Bayside Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Margaret Weatherford Lorimer; daughter, Jennifer L Loveless and husband Tony; four grandchildren, Jacquelyn and Leia Banther, T. J. (Tashia) and Josh Loveless siblings, Connie Jo Haggard and husband Larry of Chapel Hill, N.C., Raymond Weatherford, Crossville, Tn., Helen Neal, Kingston, Tn., Ila Fletchall and Leon (Pat) Weatherford both of Harriman, Tn., Betty (Jerry) Todd, Fort Oglethorpe, and Robert (June) Weatherford, Wartburg, Tn.; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 3, at the North Chapel.

A celebration of Buddy’s life will follow at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, at the funeral home chapel with Hall Blankenship and Major Chaplain Kelvin Todd, U.S. Army, officiating.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Special thanks to the staff and nurses at Hospice of Chattanooga for all their caring services. 

The family has asked that memorial contributions be made in Buddy’s name to Bayside Baptist Church, 6100 Highway 58, Harrison, Tn. 37341. 

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
