Pair Arrested After Over 100 Car Batteries Stolen

Police have charged two young men in connection with a rash of vehicle battery thefts.

Arrested were Desmond Devon Gilbert, 19, of 217 W. 27th St., and Deonta Terrell Brooks, 22, of 2707 Long St.

They are charged with theft over $1,000 and theft over $500.

Police said over 100 batteries have been stolen since just before Christmas.

They were taken to local recyclers.
