East Ridge Police were dispatched on Monday at 8:44 a.m. to a call initially reported as a potential home invasion on Frawley Road.

A neighbor to the victim noticed a white Cadillac sedan leave the victim’s residence. The neighbor did not recognize the vehicle and knew the victim was elderly. The neighbor believed the situation was suspicious and followed the Cadillac, eventually taking a photograph of the license plate. After the Cadillac left, the neighbor returned to the victim’s house to check on him. The neighbor discovered a door to the residence had been forced open and called police.

Police were able to determine on the scene that the victim was at home asleep during the incident and was unaware that the suspects had entered his home. Nothing was reported missing, and there were no injuries reported.

The same Cadillac involved in the Frawley Road incident was reported to have been seen in the area of a residential burglary on Beulah Drive in East Ridge shortly before the incident on Frawley Road.

At 12:35 p.m., an ERPD officer observed the same Cadillac parked on the lot of BB&T Bank in East Ridge and detained the driver, identified as Edwin Harris, 26, of Chattanooga.

Items stolen during the Beulah Drive burglary were recovered from inside the vehicle. Harris was arrested for two counts of aggravated burglary and one count of theft Over $1,000. He is being held on a $15,000 bond.
