Professional Park Associates in LaFayette will host its 3rd annual drive-thru flu vaccine clinics in October. A Saturday clinic has been added this year to help meet the needs of the community. Three weekday clinics, as well as two evening clinics, will also be offered.
Regular flu vaccines will be available for ages 4 and up.
Those 65 and older are eligible for the high dose vaccine, which will also be offered at this location.
Current patients of Professional Park Associates can call (706) 638-1606 to make an appointment. You do not have to have an appointment to get a flu shot and all clinics are open to the public.
Insurance will be filed for current patients. Non-patients will pay $35 for the vaccine. Cash, credit and debit will be accepted.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends everyone age 6 months old and older get a flu vaccine each year. Once you receive the vaccine, it takes about two weeks for your body to develop antibodies and provide protection against the flu. Flu activity usually peaks between December and February, according to the CDC.
Professional Park Associates is a primary care practice with two board certified physicians and three nurse practitioners and one physician assistant. The practice is currently accepting new and established patients of any age.
