Vehicular Homicide Trial Delayed 1 Day When Jurors Are Mistakenly Sent Home

  • Tuesday, December 8, 2015

A vehicular homicide trial has been delayed for one day after three panels of jurors were mistakenly sent home on Tuesday morning.

Criminal Court Judge Barry Steelman said the trial of Braylon Davis would begin on Wednesday morning.

He said, "I'm disappointed that we were not able to start today. The state was ready and the defense was ready. It's not anybody's fault in this court."

Judge Steelman said Circuit Court Clerk Larry Henry "has apologized for the error. I'm sorry that it happened."

Mr. Henry and his jury clerk went before the judge shortly before the announcement.

Four panels of jurors were retained for a murder trial in the courtroom of Judge Tom Greenholtz.
