Program director Margery Sanders was notified about the performance of Chattanooga State’s Radiologic Technology Class of 2014 on the National Registry Examination through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. The group scored 5.9 points above the national average, with an average of 11,831 candidates taking the exam nationally, and obtained a 100 percent first time pass rate. Chattanooga State’s Radiologic Technology classes have scored 100 percent pass rates for the last ten years.

In addition, the Annual Report of Primary Exams for 2014 showed that the average mean of 89.7 percent by Chattanooga State students indicated they scored above both the Tennessee and National averages of 82.8 and 83.8 respectively.

According to ARRT, radiologic technologists are the third largest category of healthcare professionals, surpassed in number only by physicians and nurses. "As with other healthcare providers, radiologic technologist qualifications are vital to quality patient care," officials said.
