Mobile, AL – The Dalton State Lady Roadrunner Tennis Team edged Middle Georgia State 5-4, then shut-out Loyola University of New Orleans in Friday’s SSAC Roundup at the Copeland/Cox Mobile Tennis Center.

First, it was a battle of the two newest members of the Southern States Athletic Conference. Both teams are new to conference play and, like Dalton State last season, the Knights will be ineligible for post season competition.

The Lady Roadrunners took two of the three doubles match-ups and half of the six singles battles to beat MGS, 5-4.

“It was a good win,” said DS Women’s Coach Michel Bates.

It was 39 and winds of 15 to 20 mph at first serve. “The conditions were very tough. It was cold and extremely windy, but the girls stayed focused and played hard. I was glad to get out of there with a win and I’m very proud of the girls.”
