Kenneth E. Hudgins Sr., 82, of Chattanooga, died on Wednesday, February 25, 2015.

Born February 10, 1933, to the late Woodie and Aline Hudgins, Ken was a 1952 graduate of Central High School where he was president of his senior class, captain of the football, boxing and baseball teams. As an amateur fighter, he had a 127/6 (W/L) record.

He served in the U.S. Army as a ski patrol at Fort Carson on Colorado Springs. He worked in construction with James Wilson Construction Co. for 30 years and owned A-1 Rigging.

Kenneth served as a deacon and teacher at South Seminole and Hughes Avenue Baptist.  He donated his time as a boxing coach and mentor at Red Bank Athletics. As a spiritual dad, his greatest desire was for his sons to walk with the Lord and demonstrate love to others. (Eph. 4:32)

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Bobbie Nell Kolwyck Hudgins; son, Kenneth Eugene Hudgins Jr. and wife, Jan; and was preceded in death by his youngest son, Gregory Scott Hudgins in 2000;  and one very special grandson, Clayton Gregory Hudgins.
