Roy Benjamin Benton, Jr., 71, of Decatur, TN, died on Tuesday, February 24, 2015.

He was of the Baptist Faith. He was retired from Cappers Inc. of Knoxville. He was the former Commander of VFW in Cleveland. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the U. S. Navy. He liked photography, gem stones and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy B. and Francis (Wilson) Benton, Sr.

He is survived by: his wife of 52 years, Marcella (Walden) Benton of Decatur; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Stevie Benton, Randy and Barbara Benton, all of Decatur; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lorinda and Mike Madden and Amanda and Josh Millsaps, all of Decatur; one sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Reed O‘Daniel of Decatur; one brother and sister-in-law, Dwight and Andrea Benton of Alabama; 13 grandchildren and their spouses, Beth and Jerry Ellison, Nick and Rhonda Benton, Autum Jones, Tia Benton, Nash Benton, Ashley Madden, Michaela Roberts, Breanna Benton, Kinsley Millsaps, Jason and Jessica Johnson, Jake Johnson, Jack Madden and Ryan Maddux; and seven great- grandchildren, Jerri Ellison, Jerica Jones, Skylar Beavers, Asher Benton, Jaxson Lawson, Addie Johnson and Sarah Johnson. 

Funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, February 27, in the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home with Rev. Van Elkins officiating. 

The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Friday, February 27 at the Bowers Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.
