3-Game Road Trip Ahead For Dalton State

The Dalton State basketball team is at Mount Vernon, GA Thursday night for the first of three road games in five days. 

The Roadrunners (17-3 overall, 8-2 SSAC) will tip-off at Brewton-Parker (11-9, 4-7) Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and go to Brunswick to play College of Coastal Georgia (4-18, 2-9 SSAC) Saturday afternoon. Tip-off for Saturday’s game has been changed. It is now 4:00 p.m. ET.

Dalton State moves on to Due West, SC where they will face Erskine College Monday night at 7:00 p.m.

Erskine is a member of the NCAA D-3 Conference Carolinas. Last season SSAC members Southern Wesleyan (SC) and Emmanuel (GA) are also members of Conference Carolinas.  

The NAIA # 12 ranked Roadrunners go into the week as one of the nation’s top rebounding teams. They are number one in defensive rebounds per game (32.750) and number two in total rebounds per game (45.3). The team is eight in total rebound margin (7.8 average rebounds per game more than the opposition).

Ladaris Green leads NAIA D-1 with 9.25 defensive rebounds per game, second in total rebounds per game (12.200) and #22 in offensive rebounds a game (2.95). He is also #4 in total rebounds (244).  Jordan Bowling ranks 13th in offensive rebounds per game (3.200).

The Roadrunners are #10 in blocked shots per game (4.24) and #3 in total blocks (51). Individually, Green is second in NAIA D-I with 2.55 blocks a contest.

Dalton State leads the country in defending against field goals (36.7%) and the Roadrunners are third best in free throw shooting in D-I (75.4%). Individually, Sean Tate in ninth in NAIA D-I free throw shooting (86.4%). He leads the team in scoring with 15.20 ppg.

The Roadrunners are 13th best in scoring against the defense per game (65.75) and the DS offense is 16th in 3-point field goals made per game (8.20)

Warren Le Beauf leads Brewton-Parker scorers with 16.6 ppg. Thursday’s hosts are 18th in NAIA D-I in free throw percentage (71.2%) and #24 in 3-point field goal percentage (31.8%).

McKel Miller is averaging 80.3% from the foul line. Deion Bernard leads in rebounds (6.9) and blocks (1.294) per game.
