Daytona Be ach, FL – The 6,076 yards Jones Course at the LPGA International hosted most of the best in NAIA teams in the country in the Monday and Tuesday Eagle Women’s Invitational Tournament.

On the women’s side, No. 11 Dalton State finished far better than their national ranking.  The Lady Roadrunners (317-320 = 636) finished the 36-hole par 73 outing in seventh place out of the 14 teams competing.

Caroline Griffin (80-79 = 159) led DS golfers. Two-time SSAC women’s golfer of the week Erika Wardzinksi (83-78 = 161) and Julia McQuilken (77-84 = 161) were two strokes back.  Taylor Marie Griner (79-86 = 165) and Rachael  Rebne (87-79 = 166) finished the DS scoring.

“I’m really proud of the way we fought today,” said Coach Jim McGrew. “We got off to a slow start, but responded well and found a way to turn it around.  We did some good things in a national championship field, including developing the depth that we are looking for. Hopefully, we can take what we learned in the last two weeks and use ot as a stepping stone moving forward.”
