Maloney, Zolia M. (Calhoun, TN)

Zolia M. Maloney, 84, of Calhoun, TN, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015 at SkyRidge Medical Center in Cleveland.
 
The daughter of the late Dewey and Lottie Stone Gross, she was born in Kentucky and had spent the last 29 years in McMinn County. She had attended Double Springs Baptist Church. Zolia was a very gifted individual who loved gardening and making crafts. She also enjoyed teaching others many skills involving arts and crafts. Her favorite activity was fishing, which she did very well.
 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Maloney; sons, Danny and Kenneth Maloney; sister, Florence Gross; and brothers, Wiley and Bill Gross.
 
She is survived by children, Margaret McKnight and husband Herbert of Ohio, Don Maloney of Calhoun, Pat Back of South Carolina, Joan Shelton of Ohio, David Maloney and wife Joyce of Etowah; sisters, Thelma Smith, Violet Angel and husband Pancho and Judy Templeton; brothers, George Gross and wife Joyce, Dewey Gross, Jr. and Walter Gross all of Ohio; special friends, Gay Moore and Loretta Maloney; 14 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends.

A celebration of Zolia’s life will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, in the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with her grandson, Donnie Maloney officiating. Interment will be private.
 
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 4 at the Serenity Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.
