R. L. Presley, 84, of Dalton, GA, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015.

He was the son of the late Russell and Teen Keith Presley; and was also preceded in death by his sisters and brother-in-law, Edith Maxine Presley and Ruth and Harlan Ellis.

R.L. was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean War as a paratrooper. He owned and operated Presley T.V. Sales and Service for over 30 years, and then he was a delivery man for the Oakwood Café. He was a member of Center Valley United Methodist Church and the American legion Post 112. R.L. was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Lola Smith Presley of Dalton; children and spouses, Roger Jerry Presley, Connie Duncan, Kathy and Jerry Gravley and Lisa and John Metcalf all of Dalton; sister, Mildred Presley of Dalton; grandchildren, Kit (Emily) Carpenter, Kevan (Holly) Carpenter, Kasey (Julie) Carpenter, Kolt (Erin) Privett, Tyler Metcalf, Jasa Joseph, Tate Metcalf, Brittney (Josh) Lowery, Abbie (Alec) Wagnon and Kelsey (Franky) Ward; great-grandchildren, Knox and Ocie Carpenter, Daisy, Andie, Hayes, Griffin and Grey Carpenter, Camp, Duncan, Sidey and Ellis Carpenter, Lola Joseph, Kolston Privett, Allison and Jacob Lowery, Whitley Wagnon and Thomas Ward; and a niece, Elaine Bridges.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Ridge Wood Nursing Manor for their care and compassion.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 25 in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. George Ross and Pastor Blair Trygstad officiating. Burial will follow in Center Valley Cemetery with American Legion Post 112 in charge of graveside rites.

The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 24 after 5 p.m.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Center Valley United Methodist Church, 5394 Hwy. 225 N. Chatsworth, Ga 30705.

Love Funeral Home, 1402 N. Thornton Ave., Dalton (across from Hamilton Medical Center) is in charge of arrangements.
