Helen McRee of Hixson died on March 25, 2015. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Alice Barnes.  

Helen was also preceded in death by a loving husband of 65 years, Marshall B. McRee; two sons, Ronald, Atlanta, GA, and Robert, Madison, AL; one brother Edwin, Chattanooga; and one sister, Billie Chapman, Loudon, TN. 

Helen lived in Atlanta for 40 years and raised her family there. 

She is survived by one son, Stephen McRee, and his wife, Carla, California; one sister, Virginia Barnes, Hixson, who was a wonderful caregiver; and three precious grandchildren: Cyndi Dormady and her husband, Mark, and daughter, Hannah (Alabama); Carrie Spielman (South Carolina) and her husband, Michael, and children, Seth and Melanie; and Robert McRee (California). 

Helen’s happiness in life was her family! She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Chattanooga. 

There will be no visitation of services as requested by Helen. 

Any donations being made in her memory may be sent to the church at 524 McCallie Ave., Chattanooga, TN  37404, or Shepherd’s Gate, 1660 Portola Ave., Livermore, CA  94551.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
