Cleveland City Schools announced that Cleveland Middle School RaiderTV was chosen by ESE Networks as the 2015 Gold Award for overall program excellence. Along with this recognition, the platform included a prize of more than $4,000 of equipment including a video camera, a wireless broadcast kit, and production software. The award was presented at this year’s Student Television Network Convention in California.

ESE Networks boasts over 500 member schools across the country with both middle and high schools utilizing the service to distribute countless hours of content to students and the greater community.

Officials said, "RaiderTV was honored to be chosen from this wide array of schools for such a prestigious award after only two years of development. This recognition underscores the excellence that RaiderTV’s staff strives for in its daily broadcasts, and the program has emerged as a leader in both middle school and high school productions."

The current RaiderTV student producer is Torr Coulthard, and he oversees all aspects of planning and live production. Current staff members are Morgan Allen, Joseph Brown, Lauren Brownfield, Leo Castro, Chloe Cribbs, Tiffany Croft, Trevor Croft, Jordan Graig, Evan Griffin, Jared Holland, Autumn Hubbard, Hunter Price, Cole Shelton, and Coy Trotter. These students rotate through a variety of positions from director to news anchor throughout their time serving on staff.

RaiderTV is a daily news show lasting 5-8 minutes that is produced by the Communications Department of Cleveland Middle School. Over 1,200 students see the show every school day, and numerous families watch the show on demand in their homes to stay current with the latest events and updates at Cleveland Middle School.

RaiderTV began streaming with ESE Networks in the 2013-2014 school year when a total program overhaul was conducted. Students are required to not only learn the technical aspects of public speaking and communications equipment, but they are expected to utilize leadership skills and core academic areas as they innovate and prepare for show segments.
