“Every 1/2 Second Counts” Will Be Keynote Address At 16th Annual Pediatric Educational Potpourri

  • Tuesday, April 14, 2015

Ridley Barron, nationally known speaker and advocate for patient safety, will be the featured speaker at the 16th Annual Pediatric Educational Potpourri sponsored by Children’s Hospital at Erlanger on Thursday, April 30, at The Colonnade in Ringgold, Ga.

Mr. Barron’s keynote address, “Every ½ Second Counts,” stems from a double tragedy in his own family during 2004. After a tragic car accident took the life of his wife, his 17-month-old son, Josh, was killed by a medication error at the hospital where the toddler was treated after the accident.

Guests may attend Mr. Barron’s presentation at The Colonnade from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. for $10. To reserve a seat, contact Carolyn.Fletcher@ Erlanger.org or call 423-778-6262.

The 16th Annual Pediatric Educational Potpourri, designed for healthcare and emergency medicine professionals who care for pediatric and neonatal patients, will take place from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Educational sessions will be conducted by healthcare professionals from Erlanger and Children’s Hospital, with topics as diverse as recent trends in drug abuse, sickle cell research, and chest wall deformities. CEUs are available.

Healthcare professionals can register or receive more information about the conference by emailing Carolyn.Fletcher@erlanger.org or Carol.Mayo@erlanger.org.

Healthcare professionals who cannot attend the Pediatric Educational Potpourri are invited to attend Mr. Barron’s presentation during Pediatric Ground Rounds on April 30 at 8 a.m. in the Massoud Building, Room 140, at Children’s Hospital at Erlanger.
