Gordon Varnell
Gordon F. Varnell, 83, of Ringgold, Georgia, died on Monday, April 20, 2015 at his home.
He was retired from Combustion Engineering and Lucey Boiler. He was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church and loved his children, grandchildren and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Lena Varnell, wives, Betty Jo Varnell and June Sexton Varnell.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Wilma Jean Varnell, children, Betty Ann (Talley) Summey, Michael (Martha) Varnell, David and Terry Parham, Tommy (Cindy) Underwood, Troy Underwood and Timmy (Deb) Underwood, brothers, George Varnell and Charles Varnell, 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 22, at 1:30 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with the Reverend Rob Borders and Reverend Keith McCloud officiating. Entombment will at the Lakewood East Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 21, from 3-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent to the Philadelphia Baptist Church in memory of Gordon Varnell, 1065 Pine Grove Road, Ringgold, GA 30736.
Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory at the end of Historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
