Easily accessible, just north of Atlanta and in the foothills of the North Georgia Mountains, along Georgia 400, the state's "Hospitality Highway," Alpharetta boasts five distinct shopping districts. There's no shortage of opportunity when it comes to selecting a souvenir as special as this Southern destination.

In North Alpharetta, travel along Windward Parkway and discover gems like Dress Up Boutique, with of-the-moment clothing and accessories at affordable prices. For the athlete, make a run to Windward's Big Peach Running Company, a locally-owned and operated store with a wide range of footwear, apparel and accessories from the leading manufacturers.

From Windward, head towards the North on Main district where you'll find Designer Consigner, an upscale consignment boutique making brands like Burberry, Chanel and Dior accessible. Equestrian lovers won't want to miss Dover Saddlery for riding apparel and clothing.

Move south towards Downtown Alpharetta where specialty shops abound. Shop Beau Vinci Violins, Alpharetta Flower Market, Cotton House Antiques & Consignments, Gallery 35, Savvy Snoot, Sis & Moon's, Karen's Fabrics, Alpharetta Outfitters and International Gourmet Food - there is literally a store for every need...or want!

In the North Point Mall area, find familiar retail options including department stores like Macy's and Von Maur, coupled with specialty shops like the state's only American Girl Boutique and Bistro, a must on the list for young ladies and those young at heart. TIP: Make reservations to dine at the in-store Bistro for brunch, lunch, dinner or tea time with a craft and tempt taste buds with fancy fruit fondue or parmesan-herb fries, among other gourmet offerings.

Now that your shopping muscles are properly stretched, flex them with the grand finale: Avalon, a sustainably designed, 86-acre development with more than 500,000 square feet of retail - including Kendra Scott, Lululemon, Orvis, Vineyard Vines, and Tommy Bahama. Plan a girls-only outing to Dry Bar where you'll sit at a beautifully-appointed bar while watching chick flicks and enjoying complimentary beverages. Then head to Cru Wine Bar for sips and cheese tastings. Guys - don't despair. Cast a line at Columbia PFG before diving into a filet at Oak Steakhouse. Gather the group at day's end for a movie at the Regal Avalon theatre, relax around the community fire pit, team up for a game of bocce or, seasonally, skate the night away at the ice skating rink. EV charging stations, a family lounge, a dog park and play area for children make Avalon the ultimate Alpharetta shopping excursion for everyone.

If ever it were possible to touch memories, Alpharetta lets you bring them home - beautifully wrapped.
