Lookout Mountain Fairyland Club Introduces “Off The Mountain” Membership

  • Wednesday, May 13, 2015

One of Chattanooga’s oldest and most prestigious private clubs, the Lookout Mountain Fairyland Club, has just introduced a new “Off the Mountain” membership category for those who do not own or maintain a residence on Lookout Mountain but live within close proximity to the club.

“We’ve always had a traditional non-resident membership category for those who live outside a 40-mile radius of the clubhouse,” said Membership Director Charlotte Lindeman.  “But we’re hopeful that this intermediate category will allow more people in our area to enjoy all the amenities and value of a Fairyland Club membership.”

The Fairyland Club is on the eastern brow of Lookout Mountain, Ga., in a stately Tudor clubhouse built in 1926 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

It offers sweeping panoramic views from its mountain-edge swimming pool, dining rooms, tennis courts and recently renovated fitness center.

“The mountain setting is not only very picturesque, but it’s also on average a good eight-to-ten degrees cooler on the mountain than in town,” said Ms. Lindeman.  “That makes the Fairyland Club an especially attractive and refreshing retreat in the summertime.”

Membership in the Fairyland Club is by invitation only, and all applicants must be approved by the board of directors.
